"Dark Shadows, the ABC vampire-themed daytime show that ran from 1966-1971, starring Jonathan Frid as Barnabas Collins, will be released on April 10, but you can pre-order it now via Amazon.com. The coffin-shaped complete box set includes 131 DVDs with all 1225 episodes.

E!'s "Dirty Soap" has been canceled. Jenna Gering, wife of Days' Galen (Rafe), tweeted, "So the word is that Dirty Soap is NOT being picked up for another season. Thanks to all of u who watched. You all have been so supportive!!!"

On January 19, 2012, the nominees for the 43rd NAACP Image Awards were announced, celebrating the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of film, television, music and literature and honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series: Bryton James (Devon, Y&R), Emerson Brooks (Erica's captor, Ben, AMC), & James Reynolds (Abe, Days), and B&B's Aaron D. Spears (Justin, B&B), and Texas Battle (Marcus). Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series: Y&R's Christel Khalil (Lily), Julia Pace Mitchell (Sofia), Tatyana Ali (Roxanne), Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia), & B&B's Yvette Freeman (Dr. Lewis). The winners will be announced during a live telecast on NBC on Friday, February 17, at 8 p.m. The nominees in the daytime categories are:

Disney Channel's new 24-hour preschool channel, Disney Junior, will replace SOAPnet on most cable and satellite systems at midnight on Friday, March 23, 2012.

To make the Daytime Emmy nomination process fairer in 2012, NATAS (The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) has instituted some changes. There will no longer be a limit of 2 actors from each show who can submit their names in the pre-nomination process in each category. Therefore, everyone will have a chance to be considered for an award, not just the most well-known actors. Also, judging pre-nominee hopefuls will take place online. The top 10 pre-nominees from each category will be announced on March 2, 2012.

SoapClassics has bought many P&G soaps and will be selling them online. They are already selling some episodes of ATWT at soapclassics.com and Amazon. They hope to sell some episodes in the future of Guiding Light, Another World, Search for Tomorrow, Edge of Night, and Texas.

E!'s "Dirty Soap" is reviewed positively.

A fan event is being organized to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ending of "Falcon Crest". It will be held December 3rd at the Sheraton Gateway in Los Angeles. Tickets are limited but can be purchased at http://vintagetvreunions.com/falconcrest (It doesn't look like any of the major cast members will be there, although that could change).

SOAPnet's schedule has changed. Ryan's Hope is no longer shown. Days of Our Lives took AMC's place at 8 p.m., as well as midnight & 7 a.m. OLTL airs at 9 p.m., 1 a.m., & 9 a.m., GH at 10 p.m., 2 a.m., & 8 a.m., and Y&R at 7 p.m., 11 p.m., & 10 a.m. Older episodes of AMC, OLTL, and GH will air at 3 a.m., 4 a.m. (M-F), and 5 a.m. (Mon-Thu & Sun).
